Discovered in 1988, the endocannabinoid system (ECS) is present in all humans when we are born. It is a signal network that uses our own endogenous endocannabinoids (molecules that we make) to achieve homeostasis. Over time due to various stresses our body can be deficient in endogenous endocannabinoids therefore we are supplementing with the exogenous endocannabinoids (from natural plants) to keep us in balance.
